Intensive Care
For critically ill patients, a quick response can make the difference between life and death. Colquitt Regional Medical Center has designed our intensive care/cardiac care unit to make it as easy as possible for nurses to observe and reach each patient. We’ve equipped the unit with state-of-the-art hemodynamic monitoring devices that alert us when life-threatening changes occur.
When visiting a patient in the ICU, please observe the following guidelines:
- ICU/CCU visitation is limited to ensure patients receive appropriate treatment and rest. Two members of the immediate family may visit for five minutes during designated times.
- Flowers and valuables are not permitted in critical care patient rooms. Family members are requested to take such items home.
- The ICU/CCU waiting areas, located on the third floor, are for the immediate family of critically ill patients. Please use the cafeteria or snack area on the first floor for eating and drinking.
- Physicians will visit patient family members in the waiting room. Please let our nursing staff know if you wish to speak with the doctor.
- You are encouraged to go home and rest when visitation hours conclude at 8:30 p.m. Should a change occur in the patient’s condition, our staff will call you. If you choose to remain in the waiting area overnight, please conduct yourself in a courteous and responsible manner.
