All inpatients are screened for nutritional problems on admission. If needed, an individual plan of care will be developed, and a complete assessment will be done. A nutritional assessment for any Colquitt Regional Medical Center patient can be ordered by the physician or requested by a staff member at any time. There is no charge to the patient for nutritional assessment.
All disciplines work together to educate patients on prescribed diets during their hospital stay. Physicians may order in-depth education for any diet a patient will need to follow at home. There is a charge for inpatient education.
Dietary education is available on written prescription from the physician. Patients may be scheduled for individual diet counseling or group classes by calling 890-3441 to schedule an appointment. Most counseling sessions take 30 minutes to 1 hour. There is a charge for outpatient education.
Education and assessment services are available on request for rehab services, wound clinic, and oncology.
