Doctor Earns Board Certification
A family practice physician in Colquitt Regional’s Primary Care Clinic has earned his board certification with the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).
Dr. Michael Schmidt has successfully completed the requirements for board certification, which means he has voluntarily met additional standards specified by ABFM beyond basic license requirement.
Before a doctor can be board certified, each must complete four years of premedical education, earn an MD or DO degree from a qualified medical school and complete three years in an accredited residency program.
Dr. Schmidt, a graduate of Clemson University, earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his family medicine residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in South Carolina
